Come, Smell The Roses
(In the Garden)

"Keep love in your heart.
a life without it is like
a sunless garden where
the flowers are dead.
The consciousness of loving
and being loved brings
a warmth and richness to life
that nothing else can bring."

-Oscar Wilde.

Love Is Beautiful
(Roses In Still Life Settings)

"Where there is love,
there is perfect trust,
there is genuine, generous giving.
Where there is love,
there is perfect joy,
there is unending beauty in living."

- Elizabeth Beck.

"I Love You"
(Single Stalks of Red Roses)

"I tell you I love you
EVERYDAY
For fear that
TOMORROW
isn't another."

- Author unknown.

Enchanting Moments
(Candles Series)

"The best and most
beautiful things
in the world
cannot be seen or
even be touched.
They must be felt
with the heart."

- Helen Keller.

Love Is Fun

- Love is like the durian
- Love is egg-citing
- Love is going bananas
- Man shall not live by rice alone
- Love is an adventure

Description for Love is like the durian
- fragrant from the inside,
thorny on the outside.

Every person is created with a capacity for loving deeds. These may be as small as just a smile, a touch or a kind word.

We may have loving intentions as sweet as the roses or like the strong aroma of the durians (some may utterly hate the latter).

Sometimes, when these loving intents are wrongly expressed/misunderstood, they may lead to thorny/painful conflicts.

As long as there are people, we'll have conflicts. How do we resolve them?

I use the pink roses to symbolize having a graciously loving heart. The bamboo stick from which the durians are suspended represents having a sturdy and straight mind i.e. being objective.

Precious Memories
(Those with old memories)

"Love puts the magic in memories.
It lives on even when earthly things die."

"Love Liberates"
True loving another means
letting go of all expectations.
It means full acceptance
Even celebration of another's personhood.

- author unknown.

He Loves You

"For God so (greatly & first) loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son
(Jesus Christ)
that whosoever believeth in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life."

John 3:16

Unfolding Moments
(Roses in close- up bloom)

Through them he sought the hidden mystique of the rose in extreme close-up. Each painting captures the rose in different stages of unfolding.

Samuel uses the unfolding rose as a metaphor for the development of a relationship that it must pass shy and tentative through several different stages before blossoming into its full glory.

Each unfolding of each petal is like a significant moment in a relationship that reveals more and more of each other over time and ushers a deeper understanding.

Its unfolding from bud to full-bloom signifies that passage of growth from innocence to maturity.

The beautiful formation that gives each rose a distinctive character recognises that we are each uniquely different.

Yet there can be a loving harmony like the individual petal that integrates itself into one another.
